We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the cleanliness, organization, and day-to-day upkeep of a private residence. The ideal candidate is proactive, meticulous, and capable of performing routine cleaning, light household maintenance, and occasional meal preparation.
Team Structure:
The housekeeping team will be determined based on staff experience. At all times, two or three housekeepers will be scheduled to ensure seven-day coverage.
A Lead Housekeeper will be appointed following a 3-month engagement, based on performance, reliability, and leadership capabilities.
Schedule:
•Coverage: 7 days per week (Monday–Sunday)
•Daily Shift Times: To be determined based on household needs and staff availability
•Flexible scheduling will be coordinated to ensure consistent coverage while accommodating personal time off.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Housekeeping & General Home Care
•Tidy and maintain cleanliness in all living areas, bedrooms, and common spaces
•Make beds and change sheets daily, if needed; rotate and maintain linen supply
•Dust furniture, bedside tables, surfaces, decorative items, and clocks
•Replace batteries and adjust time on clocks and devices as needed
•Replenish paper goods (toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, printer paper)
•Organize and clean closets and cabinets; replace damaged hangers
•Clean and reorganize drawers and storage areas
•Assist with packing and unpacking for travel or household moves
•Maintain readiness for guest arrivals or special requests
2. Trash, Recycling & Inventory
•Remove and dispose of all household trash and recycling
•Break down boxes and keep areas organized
•Keep replacement liners in the bottom of cans
•Set bins out on pick-up days and clean cans as needed
•Track and manage supply inventory (household, paper, personal care)
•Order new products and restock items as needed
•Remove expired groceries and rotate pantry and fridge contents
3. Floor & Surface Care
•Vacuum and mop floors daily or as needed
•Spot treat and clean carpets and rugs; schedule and oversee professional cleaning as required
•Clean walls, baseboards, trim, cabinetry, and vents
•Inspect and clean tile grout and ceramic surfaces
•Clean marble and stone surfaces with approved solutions
•Dust and polish glass, mirrors, and furniture surfaces
•Clean indoor light fixtures and report or replace bulbs
4. Kitchen & Pantry Duties
•Always maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment
•Clean countertops, cabinets, sinks, and exterior appliances
•Clean and descale espresso machine, coffee maker, and microwave
•Clean stovetop, oven (test temperature and burner function), and refrigerator
•Vacuum refrigerator coils, clean drip pans, and defrost freezer if needed
•Unload dishwasher, inspect items for cleanliness before putting them away
•Deep clean behind kitchen appliances on a scheduled basis
•Clean and organize pantry; discard expired items and reorder as needed
5. Light Cooking & Meal Preparation- subject to be reassigned
•Assist with basic meal preparation and light cooking, as requested
•Follow dietary guidelines and meal instructions provided by the household
•Ensure prep areas and kitchen are clean and organized after use
•Replenish food items, beverages, condiments, and coffee/tea supplies
•Take inventory of kitchen and barware; reorder or replace items as needed
6. Laundry, Linens & Garment Care
•Wash, dry, fold, and put away all laundry and linens
•Treat stains and handle delicate with appropriate care
•Iron and hang clothing, return items neatly to closets
•Inspect towels, bedding, and linens for damage or wear; replace when needed
•Maintain cleanliness and organization in laundry areas
•Move appliances periodically to deep clean laundry room
•Promptly report any damaged items—such as stains, holes, or shrinkage to the principals
•Clean and dry hair and makeup brushes
7. Bathrooms & Personal Care Areas
•Thoroughly clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, and floors
•Wipe mirrors and polish bathroom fixtures
•Replenish personal and bath products (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.)
•Inspect shower doors and tub enclosures; descale and adjust as needed
•Check caulking and recalk if necessary
•Run water in all sinks and showers periodically to maintain cleanliness
•Inspect toilets for stability, leaks, or loose parts; tighten or report as needed
8. Bar & Beverage Station Maintenance
•Clean and refresh liquor bar, coffee bar, and espresso area
•Restock tea bags, sweeteners, creamers, milks, and alcohol as directed
•Track bar inventory: long-consumed items, update with new purchases
•Polish silver, barware, and glassware as needed
9. Exterior & Outdoor Spaces
•Clean and inspect balconies, decks, and patio areas
•Remove bird droppings, mildew, and debris from surfaces
•Scrub and treat exterior wood surfaces for stains and fungus
•Vacuum and dust exterior furniture; replace or tighten hardware as needed
•Remove cobwebs, leaves, and debris from potted plants and surrounding areas
•Water houseplants and balcony plants (including ice cube care for orchids)
•Sweep, vacuum, and clean garage interior as needed
10. Equipment & Appliance Oversight
•Descale and inspect washing machine, dishwasher, and espresso machine
•Inspect belts, hoses, seals, and controls, report damage or wear
•Empty and refresh ice makers; sanitize containers
•Clean gym equipment and call for service when necessary
•Test light fixtures, check all bulbs and lamp functions
•Maintain hardware (towel bars, soap dishes, wall-mounted fixtures) for stability
Qualifications:
•Prior housekeeping or residential cleaning experience required
•Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow checklists and routines
•Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team
•Basic understanding of cleaning tools, appliances, and maintenance techniques
•Strong time management and task organization skills
Required Skills/Abilities:
•A polite and professional disposition
•Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
•Required to speak English fluently
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand and navigate a large property for extended periods and access areas quickly
•Must be able to work long hours as needed
•Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
•Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
