This position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating hot mill process conditions and controlling through hot mill operation supervisors to maintain/improve product quality and throughput.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Monitors KPI's and other process variables and evaluates means and methods to keep in control or bring in control.
• Performs in-depth analysis of problem areas in quality or throughput to bring quick resolution.
• Works within NPPC and ACIS and all quality/ISO system guidelines. Performs ISO conformance audits within the HM and helps operation supervisors maintain compliance with quality system requirements.
• Coordinates and collaborates with operation supervisors, group leaders, unit leaders and personnel to promote good process control and production of quality material.
• Interacts with Technical Department to insure proper standards and procedures are followed on all units in order to obtain the proper metallurgical properties and quality of steel in process.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Reports and is accountable to the Hot Mill Manager.
• Internally, has considerable contact with personnel from all operating areas.
• Participation in continuous improvement programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of Engineering Degree from approved University/College (BS/BA) and/or work experience necessary to perform position. Basic computer skills, strong communication skills.
