SRC Construction is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Machine Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a variety of heavy machinery used in construction projects, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling equipment to assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, and other construction activities.
Hours: 1st shift (hours will vary by project)
Pay: Depends on Experience
Key Responsibilities:
•Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders to perform construction tasks.
•Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper function and safety standards are met.
•Follow site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes to complete jobs according to project specifications.
•Perform routine pre- and post-operation inspections and record equipment logs.
•Collaborate with site supervisors and other crew members to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
•Load and unload equipment and materials as needed.
•Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA guidelines.
•Identify and report any mechanical issues or hazards on site.
Qualifications:
•Minimum [2+] years of experience operating heavy construction machinery.
•Valid operator certification or license (as required by state/local regulations).
•Strong understanding of equipment capabilities, maintenance procedures, and job site safety.
•Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
•Physical stamina and strength; able to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
•Experience with GPS or laser-guided systems on equipment.
•CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus.
•Knowledge of underground utilities and excavation best practices.
