Job Brief

Doherty Steel is searching for Machine Operators who will assist in the

setup, maintenance, and operation of various machinery. This position

will be responsible for helping form metal parts and structural shapes

according to shop drawings and specifications.

Machine Operator Responsibilities

Adhere to safety protocols and practices

Coordinate With Other Team Members As Required

Read and interpret blueprints & shop drawings

Setup and adjust parameters on material processing equipment

Use of overhead cranes to move material and position for processing

Requirements

Ability to clean/maintain the work area and machinery

Strong communication skills

Ability to or willing to learn how to diagnose/resolve issues or

malfunctions

Ability to inspect processed material

Maintain accurate records for production

Perform routine preventive maintenance

Suggest/implement ideas to enhance production and quality

Good work ethic

Ability to work overtime when necessary

Give proper attention to detail

Work smart, safe, and adheres to PPE requirements

Ability to work in diverse weather conditions

Strong hand/eye coordination

Lift and carry upwards of 5O pounds

Ability to kneel, bend, and crouch for a period of time

Ability to stand in one position for extended period of time
