Heavy Equipment Operator : Snow Clearing

Job Overview:

Iron City Services is a diversified Mining and Construction Services Company engaged in all major aspects of the mining and heavy civil construction industry within the Labrador West region. We are currently seeking a motivated person for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator (Snow Clearing Operator) to join our expanding team based in Labrador West, NL. We are actively recruiting for an experienced, results-driven Heavy Equipment Operator,in ourLabrador West location. The successful candidate will be tasked in using heavy equipment such as loaders to remove snow from surfaces like driveways, sidewalks, commercial parking lots and roads to improve safety and accessibility. Effective snow clearing involves starting early, working in stages, and using proper techniques, and often during varying weather patterns.

Working in residential and commercial areas in the Labrador West region to begin, the Operator will be motivated to accomplish operational objectives, and committed to a culture of Health & Safety. The position is currently set to Seasonal (~6 Months) but there is a possibility of the role becoming full-time depending on Operational needs.

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Report directly to the company’s Operations Supervisor

- Demonstrate proven experience in operating heavy equipment for the use of Snow Clearing such as loaders, graders, etc.

- Completing pre-operational checklists on a daily and per-equipment use basis and routinely inspect equipment

- Operate equipment safely and efficiently

- Follow company safety protocols and regulations at all times while operating equipment while

- Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner

- Attend pre-shift meetings with team to discuss and review Health & Safety and operational tasks.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year experience operating various heavy equipment in a Snow Clearing or related environment.

- Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate / Diploma an asset

- Knowledge of heavy equipment along with experience working in a mining, industrial, or related environment an asset

- Unwavering commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies.

- Be aware and work closely with key suppliers & stakeholders entering, leaving, and working on related job sites

- Operator classifications without restrictions for light vehicles and heavy equipment (Class 5, 8, etc.).
