HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR and LABORER POSITION

Compensation: $23 to $35 per hour DOE

Farmers Sand LLC is conducting a dredging project to restore lost water storage capacity at Milton Lake, six miles east of Platteville, Colorado. This project will support the current and future water demand by shareholders of The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The project has been permitted as a mine site with the Division of Mined Land, Reclamation and Safety with the State of Colorado. As such, all employees are required to have MSHA training and follow all MSHA regulations while on the site.

Farmers Sand is seeking a skilled and safety conscious Heavy Equipment Operator and Laborer to join the team. The candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other equipment used in construction, mining, or industrial site work. Somer general labor is required at times if a task cannot be completed using heavy equipment, such as cleaning material around belt conveyors. The position requires working a minimum of four (4) 12-hour shifts per week, with the opportunity to work up to six (6) shifts, depending on workload and project demands.

Skills and Knowledge:

*Possess physical strength and knowledge necessary to operate heavy equipment including large excavators, bulldozer, road grader and loader.

*Good work ethic and the ability to work well with others.

*Ability to manage and handle emergency situations, work pressure and stress.

*Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner.

*Flexible working odd hours on occasion

*Quick learner – Self Starter qualities

*Communicate effectively with Supervisors and team members

*Ability to maintain a stockpile using a dozer

*Understanding of undercarriage and track best practices.

*Proficient in freehand grading.

Duties include but are not limited to:

*Operate and store heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.

*Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers in a safe manner.

*Work in adherence with safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws.

*Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

*Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.

*Perform periodical safety, maintenance or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.

*Perform other duties, as and when assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

*A valid driver's license and clean driving record.

*Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent work visa.

*Must have significant experience operating heavy equipment (Excavators, Bulldozers, Road Graders, Front End Loaders, Skid Loaders, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

MSHA 30 CFR 48 training and certification. If the successful applicant does not possess such certification, Farmers Sand will provide this training prior to starting work on the site.

The hourly range for this position depends on experience and qualifications. The selected applicant will be subject to and must pass a background investigation and drug test.
