- Moving material with the use of a forklift or overhead crane;
- Testing, assembling, preparing and installing mechanical components which includes stationary and/or mobile equipment;
- Repairing and troubleshooting mechanical components and equipment;
- Cleaning of work area and machines;
- Reading blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures;
- Completing reports and mechanical documentation in a timely manner;
- May include electrical maintenance duties;
- Must adhere to company policies, procedures and directions regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments;
- Have flexibility to work in a 7/24 environment;
- Frequent travel to customer locations to perform work in the field is required;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills (verbal and written);
- Must be able to respond to emergency calls as required;
- Ability to follow instruction, work well with direct supervision and apply knowledge from past jobs to future work.
- A high regard for safety policy and procedure ;
- Alberta Industry Training – enrolled as an Apprentice or obtained Journeyperson status is an asset.
- Class 3 or 1 Operator’s License with good defensive driving skills is required.
- Knowledge and experience with industrial manufacturing and mechanical work;
- Experience with blueprints;
- Basic diesel engine knowledge;
- Require a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in industrial mechanical-electrical troubleshooting and/or repairs of power generation, alternators and controls systems;
- Some lifting required (up to 50 LBS);
- This position will require working outdoors frequently and traveling to numerous customer locations as well as working in the shop. The position will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures and will be working alone in many cases in which the company work alone policy must be adhered to;
- Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, ladder work, stair climbing, walking on rough ground, indoor and outdoor work, exposure to change of temperature and humidity, exposure to dust fumes and gases, working near moving equipment and working from heights;
- Familiar with NSC Driving policies;
- First Aid, H2S, TDG, GHS WHMIS, Confined Spaces.
