Health Safety Environment Advisor

Savanna Well Servicing is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support our field operations in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas

. Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), this role is integral to ensuring safe and compliant operations across our field activities. This position will involve 80% fieldwork and 20% office time, requiring frequent travel to rig sites.

Key Responsibilities:

- Champion safety. Lead by example by promoting integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

- Safety Management Systems. Ensure consistent implementation and effectiveness of the SMS across the assigned region.

- Mentorship. Provide guidance and training on HSE best practices, regulatory requirements, and the Savanna SMS to field personnel.

- Inspections. Conduct regular safety inspections and rig assessments to identify compliance gaps and safety improvement opportunities.

- Incident Investigations. Lead or support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventative actions.

- Other duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Technical expertise - Formal training in incident investigation and root cause analysis. Proficient in MS office.

- Communication skills - strong written & verbal abilities. Confidence in communicating with target audience. Ability to handle high-pressure or emergency situations.

- Organizational skills - highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Travel requirements: Must be willing to travel regularly to rig sites (including weekends and on-call rotation). Ability & willingness to work irregular or extended hours based on operational needs.

- Candidate must be local to Grande Prairie and area.

Education & Experience:

- Certificate/diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred)

- At least 5 years of HSE experience with a strong focus on field support in multiple locations

- Knowledge and/or experience of well servicing operations

- Incident Investigation & root cause analysis training

- Working knowledge of OH&S, AER, ECB regulations, and IRPs

- Valid industry certifications (e.g. H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSO, etc)

- Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record (less than 6 demerits in the past 2 years)
