About the Estate:

Privately Owned Homestead Mini-Farm Estate in the Mt Pleasant NC area on 22 beautiful acres of land.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Gardening, Grounds, and Estate Manager to oversee and maintain the exterior beauty and functionality of a private estate. This multifaceted role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for the outdoors and a proven ability to expertly handle all aspects of gardening, groundskeeping, landscaping, animal care, and general property upkeep. The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring the estate is consistently presented to the highest standards. Responsibilities:

•

Gardening Excellence: Cultivate and maintain all gardens, including flower beds, vegetable gardens, shrubbery, and trees. This includes planting, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, pest control, and irrigation management.

Animal Husbandry: Provide exceptional daily care for estate animals (Future goal of having Chickens, Goats, and Bee Hives). This includes feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, ensuring their health and well-being, and coordinating veterinary care as needed.

•

Wood Management: Safely and efficiently split and stack firewood for fireplaces and other heating needs. Maintain equipment related to wood splitting.

•

Fencing and Structures: Build, repair, and maintain all types of fencing on the property, ensuring security and aesthetic appeal. This may also include minor repairs to other exterior structures.

•

Lawn Care & Landscaping: Perform comprehensive lawn care, including mowing, edging, watering lawn, and leaf removal. Implement and maintain landscaping plans, including planting and hardscaping elements.

Exterior Property Upkeep: Ensure the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the exterior property, including driveways, walkways, patios, and other outdoor areas. This may involve power washing, debris removal, and seasonal maintenance tasks.

•

Groundskeeper Duties: Proactively identify and address any maintenance needs related to the grounds. Ensure proper storage and maintenance of all outdoor equipment and tools.

•

Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with estate owners and other staff regarding property needs and project updates.

Qualifications:

•

Proven experience (5 years minimum) in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in gardening, animal care, fencing, wood splitting, lawn care, and general property maintenance.

•

Extensive knowledge of plant care, including identification, cultivation, pest and disease management.

•

Experience in providing care for chickens, goats, and honey bees.

•

Proficiency in safely operating and maintaining various gardening equipment which include tractor, zero turn mower, power tools, and potentially light machinery like a log splitter, tractor auger, etc.

•

Ability to build and repair various types of fences.

•

Strong understanding of lawn care and landscaping principles.

•

Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

•

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

•

Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.

•

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

•

Background check and drug test is required for this position.
