Position Overview:

The Grader Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining motor graders to prepare, level, and finish surfaces for construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. This role requires precision, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operating the Grader:

Maneuvering the motor grader to spread, level, and grade various materials for construction projects, including roads, highways, and other earthwork structures.

- Equipment Maintenance:

Conducting daily inspections, routine lubrication, and basic maintenance on the grader to ensure optimal performance and to report any mechanical issues.

- Safety and Compliance:

Adhering to all company policies, federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (e.g., MSHA, DOT, DEQ), and wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Collaboration:

Working closely with laborers, and supervisors to coordinate grading activities, meet project timelines, and achieve project specifications.

Requirements:

- Proven experience operating a motor grader or similar heavy equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform with accuracy and thoroughness in work.

- Ability to perform basic math and understand written and oral instructions.

- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for operating heavy machinery.

- A valid CDL driver's license is preferred.

- Strong commitment to safety and an ability to identify and report potentially unsafe conditions.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.

Education:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift, plus occasional on-call duties.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Newcastle, WY: Reliably commute or willing to relocate; this is not a rotation position. (Required)
