The GSM will support sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing activities across direct and indirect categories. This role is both tactical and analytical: managing day-to-day procurement while researching markets, evaluating suppliers, and contributing to sourcing strategies that enable Niron's growth from pilot scale to commercial manufacturing.
- Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and day-to-day supplier communications.
- Lead RFQ processes, evaluate proposals, and compare vendor offers.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms for assigned materials and services.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to support production and projects.
- Research supplier markets and pricing trends for key commodities and services.
- Assist with supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance tracking.
- Monitor supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery) and recommend improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align suppliers with engineering and operations needs.
- Maintain procurement data in internal systems to support reporting, planning, and audits.
- Help standardize procurement processes, templates, and tools for scalability.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for cost reduction, supplier optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7-10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.- Experience sourcing direct materials
- Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate supplier proposals, cost drivers, and market trends.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- ERP/MRP experience
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
- Experience in a start-up or high-growth manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment or advanced materials categories.
- Exposure to cost analysis and supplier performance management.
- Salary range: $95,000 - 135,000 based on experience, skills, and education
