•Assist with planning, organizing, and controlling projects, including liaising with appropriate groups to help coordinate activities relating to the project(s) among GTM (US & Canada) Departments.
•Ensures traceable, verifiable, complete and timely submission of operational data.
•Mentor the As-builts staff on technical aspects of pipelines and pipeline operations.
•Recommend continuous improvement opportunities for process control, procedures, and QA/QC.
•Resolves analytical and technical conflicts, negotiate, and communicate with a broad base of personalities to arrive at the best solutions to problems using critical strategic thinking abilities.
•Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and help create a positive environment of trust and inclusiveness within the Systems and Information Management group.
•Responsible for ensuring client priorities are being set and met by group activities.
•Perform a range of technical and support functions relating to the day-to-day maintenance of GTM GIS Data which requires a substantial understanding of spatial data principles, map projections and digital data repositories.
•Supports the Supervisor – Data and Information, Systems and Information Management Team, Major Projects, US Operations, Operational Compliance, Pipeline Integrity, EAM, Supply Chain, field and 3rd party vendors and peers to establish standards and guidelines for systems and/or business processes, as required.
•The GIS Analyst should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders (not limited to Integrity group, Operational Compliance, Facility Records, etc), and help create a positive environment of trust and inclusiveness within the Systems and Information Management group.
Required
•Associates Degree or higher in Geography/related field or a minimum of 4-6 years relevant GIS experience with a pipeline company.
•In-depth knowledge of GIS suite of products from ESRI.
•Ability to resolve technical and analytical problems quickly.
•Understanding of pipeline operations, coupled with knowledge of information technology, specifically geographic information systems.
•Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and written and oral communication skills.
Preferred
•Ability to manage time, tasks and resources effectively in a deadline-oriented, customer service environment and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
•Ability to resolve technical and analytical problems with minimal supervision.
•Experience in Process Creation and Implementation.
