Geology Summer Student

We are searching for an eager Geology Summer Student. Reporting to an Asset Manager, the Geology Summer Student will have the opportunity to work with an Asset team and be mentored and coached by a senior geologist. They will guide you in mapping and geological evaluation, ensuring a valuable learning experience. The projects you will be working on are critical for enhancing our understanding of these geological zones and identifying potential drill locations to support TAQA North's growth strategy.

This summer student position is based out of Calgary. This position is full time from May - August 2026.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Focused on a specific stratigraphic horizon, local and regional mapping will be interpreted providing a deeper understanding for our Southern Alberta, Central Alberta, or Southwest Saskatchewan plays.

- Define resource in place with assessment of key risks and uncertainty

- Summarize potential drilling inventory and work with mentoring Geologist on development recommendations

- Create detailed geological maps using Schlumberger’s Petrel software, and with significant work in IHS’s Accumap.

Your Qualifications:

- Eligible candidates will have completed their 2nd year of studies as a minimum in a Geology University program and returning to school after the summer work term

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.

- Prior experience in oil and gas considered an asset.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Demonstrated desire to learn and develop their skills.

- Enthusiastic and motivated.
