· Maintain and wear the appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to approved safety footwear, safety glasses, a hard hat with a face shield, protective gloves, high-visibility clothing, and any other necessary safety equipment for the safe handling of materials.
· Verify the safe operating condition of equipment, racks, chains, and other devices used in the process. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to maintenance or a supervisor.
· Perform repetitive heavy lifting and continuous bending.
· Maintain communication with and assist co-workers in preparing and processing materials.
· Assist crane operators by hooking and unhooking materials as needed.
· Maintain the production schedule by locating raw materials for processing, loading and unloading materials, removing miscellaneous debris before and after processing, banding materials as needed, and ensuring finished products are properly located.
· Assist kettle operators with drossing and cleaning the work area as needed.
· Perform paddling functions to enhance the quality of galvanized products, including using air guns to remove zinc needles when required.
· Verify material quantities before and after processing. If any material is lost, immediately notify the appropriate area to locate and assist as needed.
· Inspect materials to ensure proper tagging and verify the quality of the finished galvanized product.
· Perform general operator duties in the Water Treatment plant, if required.
· Assist with general plant cleanup and housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· If required, perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning office areas, lunchrooms, changing rooms, and restrooms
· Empty trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal, if required.
· Restock cleaning supplies and report any shortages, if necessary.
· Follow all safety protocols while performing cleaning tasks.
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including long gloves and a dust mask.
· Work safely, protecting yourself and others from accidents and injuries.
Must be able to lift and bend continuously.
Complete all training as required by the Company
Forklift license required, or the ability to obtain a license by passing written and hand on tests for procuring future licensing. Crane and rigging certification required, or the ability to obtain a license by passing written and hand on tests for procuring future licensing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to twist, reach, bend, push, pull, sweep, shovel, and lift. Lifting requirements include lifting various sized and shaped material from waist to chest height. Some floor to chest and overhead lifting required. Required weight range for two people ranges from 2 to 170 pounds. Work 8 hours up to 10 hours per day, 5 days per week and overtime as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to working in an unheated building, some outside work, in ambient temperature and weather conditions.
Vapors and fumes expelled from various process tanks, hydrochloric acid, zinc ammonium chloride, zinc and chromate quench, may be irritant at times. However they are well within their regulatory limits.
The employee will be required to wear all safety equipment as mandated by Company Safety Policies.
