Under direction of the Supervisor, the General Labor employee is responsible for identifying, assembling, packing, sorting, painting, grinding and separating parts by hand in accordance with company policies and procedures.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Load and unload parts to and from the paint line
- Check parts off the paint line, making sure all finished pieces are prepped for shipping
- Examine work and perform quality checks daily
- Pack material ensuring all quality standards are met for all parts
- Drive forklift (if certified) to move parts around the plant
- Work assembly line if required
- Check work area for hazards
- Complete any required paperwork (both in paper and electronically)
- Leave work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete

- High school degree preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment is a plus
- Understanding the use of ruler and measuring tape
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
