We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Construction Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of plant equipment and systems by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and all other required plant equipment such as screeners and crushers. The technician will also play a key role in minimizing downtime, maximizing productivity, and ensuring a safe working environment for all plant personnel.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, crushers, screeners, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to restore equipment functionality.
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure proper calibration and functionality of plant machinery to meet operational standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all plant safety procedures, MSHA regulations, and other safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Report any safety hazards and assist in safety audits.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacement of parts. Generate and update maintenance logs and reports.
- Parts Inventory: Assist in maintaining adequate levels of spare parts and tools. Order replacement parts as necessary and track inventory usage.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, engineering, and quality control, to coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks that minimize production downtime.
- Emergency Support: Provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns, responding promptly to issues and working efficiently to resolve them.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures to enhance performance, safety, and reliability.
- Training & Development: Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies and best practices. Participate in training sessions and workshops as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields (preferred).
- knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and crusher/screener systems. (preferred)
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, crushers and screeners in Aggregate mining is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in an industrial environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ pounds or more, and perform physical tasks as required.- Ability to work rotational schedule with the ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on call if necessary.
- Experience with Aggregate Plant Maintenance such as Crushers/Screeners
- Knowledge of MSHA safety standards and other relevant regulations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the plant for extended periods.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to handle and lift heavy objects 50+ pounds.- Plant maintenance may involve exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Safety gear (such as gloves, goggles, and ear protection) must be worn when required.
