Full Stack Developer – Trading IT

Main Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic and agile North America Trading IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both Angular and Java languages to deliver end-to-end development and will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration between the front-end and back-end components. The role requires collaboration with multiple teams spread across various regions within our strategic applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Design and Development: Participate in the technical design and development of significant or complex application enhancements.

- Issue Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve high-severity issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

- Requirement Collaboration: Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Interface and Solution Implementation: Work closely with partners to implement interfaces and integrated solutions.

- Deployment and Scaling: Coordinate with IT teams to deploy and scale new instances as required by performance demands and expanding business needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Risk and Performance Management: Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and system degradation.

- Non-Functional Requirements Alignment: Align software characteristics with defined business non-functional requirements, such as performance, availability, and security.

- Code Quality and Delivery: Ensure all software is unit tested, appropriately documented, and delivered within the established timelines. Partner with QA teams to address both functional and non-functional testing requirements.

- Version Control Management: Maintain all development work in enterprise-approved version control systems, such as GitLab, ensuring traceability and collaboration.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

- Proficiency in Front-End Technologies: Strong skills in Angular framework, Typescript, Javascript and CSS.

- Proficiency in Back-End Development Expertise:  Solid understanding of server-side languages, primarily Java but also C#, or Python and frameworks such as Spring

- Proficient in debugging legacy Java applications using developer tools

- Experienced with component libraries Angular Material, DevExpress, AG-Grid, and NGX-Datatable

- Experienced with Database Management: Writing performant queries on RDBMs like Oracle.

- Experienced with API Development and Integration: Designing and working with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.

- Experienced with Agile Methodologies: Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.

- Familiarity of unit testing frameworks such as Junit and methodologies like Test-Driven Development

- Familiar with Cloud Services: Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Familiar with Version Control Systems: Familiar with platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.

- Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD: Familiar with practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or Travis CI.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative and practical solutions.

- Communication and Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring the quality and accuracy of code and documentation.

- Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in full stack development.

- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.

Experience:

- Development Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on development experience across the full stack.

- Technical Leadership: At least 4 years of experience in a technical lead role, overseeing development teams and driving project success.

- Industry Experience: Experience in commodity trading or related industries is a plus.

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Closely collaborate with NA Trading IT Business Analysts and Technical Leads

- Will work under the direction of the Chief Architect: North America
