SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the HTM/NI Terminal Manager, the Fuel Delivery Truck Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the safe, timely, and reliable fuel truck loading, transportation, and on-time delivery of product to our customers. The FDTS must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in all aspects of a Fuel Delivery Truck Driver’s responsibilities including: compliance with DOT Regulations, safe driving practices of commercial vehicles and delivering products safely and without incident.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader in logistics who inspires safety, professionalism, and performance across the team. IES seeks an individual who is customer focused, can establish priorities yet be flexible within an ever-changing environment. The FDTS manages vehicle maintenance and repairs, personnel training and performance, and compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
Desired competencies include: Ability to lead, manage and on occasion operate fuel delivery trucks. Must be able to manage scheduling for all deliveries and proficiently lead the team with clarity and direction. Incumbent must be able to innovate and create using critical thinking skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ideal candidate must be able to establish priorities under tight deadlines and have a proven history as a motivated, self-starter who can drive multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Supervises Personnel – Leads by example. Conducts annual performance reviews and provides routine coaching and feedback. Promotes professional growth and develops performance improvement plans when needed. Ensures all drivers are fully trained and adhere to policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
2. Champions Safety – Promotes a culture of safety and excellence. Ensures incident and injury free operations. Maintain commitment to a high standard of excellence. Ensures that drivers comply with all safety laws, IES safety policies/rules, and report actual and potential safety violations to the Terminal Manager. Conducts incident investigations, develops corrective action plans and reports action/findings to the Terminal Manager. Strives to achieve incident and injury free operations
3. Manages Vehicle Maintenance – Oversees and manages all vehicle maintenance. Ensures vehicles are fit for service by completing all preventative maintenance, safety checks and required vehicle operating certifications are scheduled, completed, up to date, and renewed before expiration date.
4. Leads Driver Training – Manages and oversees new driver orientation and training. Conducts routine check rides and accurately documents driver performance to ensure compliance with DOT and IES policies and procedures are followed 100% of the time. Conducts and documents annual defensive driving evaluations for all fuel truck drivers, including on-road assessments, as required by IES policy. Coordinates with Safety and HR on training remediation for any preventable incidents or performance concerns.

6. Manages Cost and Timesheets – helps create budgets, tracks expenses, driver and truck utilization. Strives to operate within the budgets and control cost. Inputs, monitors, and manages Timesheet verification and payroll approval. Keeping the Terminal Manager and HRBP informed of any issues.
7. Dayforce Administration - Monitors and manages Timesheet verification and payroll approval. Keeping the Terminal Manager and Payroll informed of any issues.
8. Back-up Dispatcher – serve as backup dispatcher as needed, including handling calls, scheduling deliveries and updating route information.
9. Driver - as needed, acts as a driver and performs all FDTD essential functions.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Terminal Manager.
2. Plan and facilitates all safety meetings and driver re-certification training as required.
3. Maintains Driver Qualification Files (DQFs), ensuring records are current and compliant with DOT and IES documentation standards.
4. Maintains training records and documents driver completion of required manual reviews, hands on training and annual refresher training.
5. Interacts regularly with customers in a professional manner and escalates questions or concerns to the Terminal Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
2. Working knowledge of DOT Hours-of-Service rules, FMCSA CFR Title 49 driver requirements. Ability to apply these in daily driver oversight and scheduling.
3. Minimum of three years’ experience as a fuel delivery driver with a Class A CDL in good standing.
4. Minimum of five years safe driving record.
5. Minimum of three years of experience as a Supervisor or Trainer.

1. Seasoned knowledge of a fuel delivery truck driver, site tank locations, loading and offloading procedures.
2. Experience as a Truck Driver Supervisor, highly desired.
3. Mechanical aptitude.
4. Computer skills and programs (Excel and Word).
5. Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
Other Requirements

2. Valid Commercial Driver’s License in good standing with clean abstract is required.
3. Must enforce all policies outlined in the IES Professional Truck Drivers Manual, including mobile device restriction, PPE use, safe loading practices, and incident reporting requirements.
4. Strong understanding of all aspects of fuel delivery system.
5. Demonstrated ability to enforce distracted driving policies and hands-free mobile device usage in compliance with IES standards.
6. Must ensure all drivers complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting discrepancies promptly and removing unsafe vehicles from service.
7. Willingness to work variable shifts; including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
8. Pass background check and drug test.
9. Must pass DOT Driver required physical as required (every two years).
10. Maintain all OSHA, DOT certifications as required (every three years).
11. Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within sixty days of hire.
12. This is a safety sensitive position and random drug testing is required.
PAY AND BENEFITS
Island Energy Services offers a competitive salary that commensurate with qualifications and experience. The hiring annualized salary range for this position is $101,000 to $134,000.
