3rd Shift
General Summary:
Supervises and directs employees in foundry
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
•Utilize manpower and equipment to maximize productivity while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
•Oversee all melting operations, inoculation, refractory work and ladle repair.
•Oversee all molding operations, core and tooling preparation.
•Direct the workforce to produce castings in accordance with procedures and work instructions.
•Continuously train employees in safe work practices.
•Direct employees to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
•Ensure that all iron poured, and molds made are within established parameters to ensure quality product. Has the authority to stop the production line should quality problems occur
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Knowledge of PC’s and related software.
•Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Ability to effectively supervise employees.
Working Conditions
•The Foundry Supervisor will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.
Physical Requirements
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
•Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.
•This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
•Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and telephone.
Education and Experience Requirements:
•High School diploma or equivalent required.
•Experience supervising and/or directing employees
•3-5 years foundry experience with Disamatic molding and electric furnace knowledge
