Safety
Wears all required PPE and follows all established safety protocols. Understands, observes, and respects safety rules, performing all tasks in a safe and responsible manner (including use of glasses, steel-toe shoes, face shield, helmet, gloves, spats, etc.). Immediately reports any and all safety concerns to a Supervisor.
Inline Preparation
Prepares the trough and inline equipment properly and thoroughly to ensure a safe and effective pouring process.
Skimming Process
Uses appropriate skimming tools to remove slag and impurities from the ingot casting mold and to clean sows effectively.
Quality
Skims ingots to meet required dimensions and quality specifications, especially for unique alloy types with precise sizing needs.
Monitor Flow
Understands the full inline process and is able to adjust flow speeds up or down as needed to maintain optimal casting performance.
Control the Casting Speed
Continuously monitors casting speed. Reports incorrect speeds to the Supervisor. Maintains the correct speed to stay aligned with production time tracking. Skimmer is responsible for managing inline speed.
Alert & Emergency Stop (E-Stop)
Knows how and when to activate the E-Stop in the event of an overflow or hazard. Alerts Supervisor immediately when required.
Coat Casting Molds
Applies coating to casting molds as required, following proper procedure and frequency.
Stacking
Stacks ingots accurately and verifies they are cut to proper size specifications.
Weighing & Stenciling
Weighs and stencils bundles and sows accurately and without error.
Sow Casting
Safely and effectively removes knockout pins during the casting process.
Sow Pouring
Safely applies water to sows during the pouring process, following proper procedures.
Sow Transport
Uses chains correctly and safely to lift sows out of molds, ensuring stable and secure transport.
Forklift Operation
Safely and properly moves ingots and sows to designated rows and storage areas using a forklift.
Keeps the casting line clean and free of obstructions.
Maintains stairways, aisles, walkways, and deck surfaces free of obstructions to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment.

· Must be willing to work in a foundry manufacturing environment, where working conditions can be hot or cold depending on external temperatures.
