JOB SUMMARY

The Fire Systems Designer works for the ORR Protection team to layout and design fire suppression and fire alarm systems for installation at customer sites. Designers convert input data into installation drawings in using CAD software, and to as-built drawings after installation. Designers are also responsible for production of submittal packages for the permitting and installation of the system. Designers are responsible for ensuring the design meets the applicable manufacturer’s requirements, NFPA Standards, and local code requirements. Designers also help our field staff in obtaining technical information to assist them while they are in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

BS in engineering technology, electronics, or equivalent experience in related industry, preferred.* 3 years’ experience in the fire protection industry, required*. 1-year experience in CAD, required*.
