Key Responsibilities
•Lead the Statement of Conditions (SOC) survey for a Building at a facility.
•Perform detailed inspections of smoke/fire barriers, hazardous areas, suites, and mixed occupancies in compliance with NFPA 101 and TJC LS.01.01.01 standards.
•Identify critical deficiencies and present findings to hospital leadership and Environment of Care staff.
•Prepare Statement of Conditions (SOC) documentation and reports using AutoCAD and Microsoft Word.
•Support data entry and updates on the The Joint Commission extranet platform.
•Provide remote technical consultation (up to 8 hours) and training for hospital staff.
•Participate in pre-survey planning sessions with client engineering and safety officials
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or in another engineering discipline with Professional Engineer (PE) registration in fire protection engineering.
•At least 10 years of experience working in healthcare occupancy environments.
•Membership in at least one of the following is required:
NFPA 101 Life Safety Code Technical Committee, or
NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Technical Committee
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and document preparation for compliance purposes.
•Preferred: Past experience conducting SOC surveys for medical facilities.
