Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hard working person in the fire protection industry. Someone who is motivated to learn and grow in the industry. As a technician, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repairs, and compliance of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and fire sprinkler systems as well. State certification is required for the fire extinguisher program, while job performance and knowledge of individual systems will be required for suppression system work. New construction is also a large part of our business. This is a mobile service, so every technician will be in his own vehicle when they are sufficiently trained, certified, and capable. Normal hours of operation are 7a-4p however many jobs require earlier or later start times.
Duties
•Perform semi annual and annual service of fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, and fire suppression systems
•Report system conditions, maintenance operations, and compliance issues in writing for each job
•Schedule work directly with business owners and fill daily as well as weekly calendars
•Keep inventory in the service vehicle, as well as in the shop
•Communicate with co-workers regarding schedules, inventory, and assistance on larger jobs
•Maintain communication with customers during and after normal hours regarding appointments (phone provided)
•Learn to install new fire equipment in restaurants, commercial buildings, food trucks, and elsewhere
•Maintain professional appearance (Clothing of all type, PPE provided)
•Attend paid classers for continued education and additional certifications
•Have and maintain acceptable driving record as well as pass drug test
Experience
•Increased wage for currently certified or experienced fire protection technician
•Spanish speaking applicants preferred (not required)
•Use of basic hand and power tools
•Computer skills for invoicing, reporting, and emailing customers
•Plumbing HVAC Electical experience a plus (may increase starting wage)
