Field Technician

Overview:

The Field Technician is responsible for performing hands-on technical work at field sites, ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems. This role supports field operations by installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation equipment, while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on field equipment, tools, and systems.

- Install, calibrate, and test mechanical or electrical components as required.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, performing necessary repairs or adjustments.

- Collect, document, and report field data and equipment readings accurately.

- Ensure all work complies with safety procedures, permits, and environmental regulations.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to coordinate field activities.

- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and materials required for field tasks.

- Support project start-up, commissioning, and shutdown activities as needed.

- Provide feedback on equipment performance and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

- 2+ years of experience in field maintenance, operations, or technical support (oil & gas, utilities, or industrial setting preferred).

- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems.

- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Familiar with safety practices, LOTO procedures, and field reporting requirements.

- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work in remote locations.

- Comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding environments.

- Must be able to meet conditional job offer requirements including backgroung, drug test (hair follicle, MVR check, and fit for duty agility test.
