As we grow, we are seeking a dedicated Field Training Specialist to ensure our field teams are skilled, compliant, and empowered to deliver top-tier service.
The Field Training Specialist is responsible for delivering hands-on technical and safety training to field employees, including service technicians, delivery drivers, and installation crews. This role plays a key part in supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a culture of safety across all field operations.
Training will take place in a classroom setting, small group, eLearning, WebEx or other type of training experience to ensure a consistent experience for all. The Field Service Training Specialist will partner and collaborate with internal partners to assist and support with companywide training needs and requirements as well as safety and compliance requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive onboarding training for new field employees, including safety protocols, equipment use, and company procedures.
- Conduct on-site coaching and skills assessments for current staff to ensure adherence to industry and company standards.
- Develop, update, and facilitate training programs focused on:
- Propane and oil tank installation
- Equipment maintenance and repair
- DOT and OSHA compliance
- Defensive driving and delivery procedures
- Emergency response and leak protocols
- Partner with Safety and Compliance teams to identify training needs and address gaps.
- Maintain accurate records of training completion, certifications, and employee progress.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, products, and operational procedures.
- Stay current on industry regulations, best practices, and certifications (e.g., CETP, NFPA).
- Travel frequently to various company locations and customer sites within the service area.- 5+ years of experience in the propane, oil, or energy distribution industry, preferably in a field or technician role.
- Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervisory roles preferred.
- CETP certification(s) strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of industry safety practices, DOT regulations, and NFPA codes.
- Excellent communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 75% within the assigned region.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; must technical certifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

The Field Training Specialist can be based out of any location within our Footprint. Travel is required for this position.
The Field Training Specialist must have completed the following certifications/licensing:
- Apprentice, Journeyman or Master designation licensing is necessary in states where required.
- Applicable propane CETP certification is required for propane technicians.
- All technicians must have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ license. Driving record is reviewed at employment, and annually thereafter, and must meet company standards.
