Service technicians perform startup, on-site repair, and maintenance of fuel storage tank and dispensing systems at retail gas stations and commercial fueling facilities. System equipment includes underground tanks, aboveground tanks, point of sale systems, card systems, dispensers, tank monitors, submersible pumps, piping and other petroleum equipment. This position does not work a typical 8-5 shift, hours may vary based on workload and customer need.
- Monday through Friday (45-50 hours per week).
- Standard start time 8:00 but will vary at times. End time is at job completion.
- Technicians are dispatched from their home.
- Requires the availability to rotate on-call for after hour emergency services.
- Overnight stays are required at times.
- Troubleshoot and repairs gasoline dispensing units (such as: Gilbarco, Gasboy, Fuel Master and Bennett).
- Troubleshoot and repair of electronic POS (Point-of-Sale) Systems (such as: VeriFone and Gilbarco).
- Perform installation, programming, and startup of equipment.
- Perform quality control tests on newly installed and repaired equipment.
- Perform general maintenance service calls such as change filters, calibrate meters, pump water from tanks and sumps, change hoses/nozzles, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Complete and submit work orders, warranty forms, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding service needs and recommendations.
- Obtain and maintain industry and manufacturer certifications. All training is provided.
- Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills.
- Gilbarco Dispenser certification and Veeder Root Tank Monitor certification, preferred.
- Proven experience as a Pump Technician or in a similar role within the mechanical or industrial field.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, and standing 8-10 hours per day.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have a valid Driver License
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
