Job Description (major tasks): The Field Service Technician is responsible for carrying out appropriate service related functions; also, providing quality services to customers and ensuring their satisfaction. This is accomplished by:
•commissioning of fire protection systems.
•troubleshooting and repairing systems.
•retrofitting systems in the field.
•quoting and selling aftermarket parts.
•providing technical/customer support to end users.
Minimum Required Competency and Requirements:
•high school diploma or GED with some form of continuous education
•5-10 years minimum of field service experience or demonstrated ability to work alone
•Basic communication skills
•experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, retrofitting systems, and on-site inspections
•Ability to extensively travel within the U.S. and internationally - Hazard duty pay may apply to some locations
•passport (or able to obtain)
•Always be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen
•or, an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Preferred Skills:
•Technical Sales Experience
•Fire Alarm Panel (Kidde, Notifier, Mircom)
