THE OPPORTUNITY:
Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a Field Operator, based in the Virden, MB area.
Typical duties of a Field Operator include the operation and maintenance of central production treatment/storage facilities, water injection pumps, various utility support systems including chemical injection equipment, and related equipment.
REPORTS TO: Production Foreman
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
•Performing daily well checks by inspecting equipment to ensure it is running properly and examine leases
•Performing minor maintenance repairs
•Completing work orders for larger maintenance work
•Testing wells by obtaining volumes, samples, and gas readings, maintain logbook, and enter test results into PVR
•Performing pigging on pipelines
•Performing chemical circulations and monitor chemical rates
•Examining boost pumps and lubrications
•Inspecting gas compressors and lubrications where applicable
•Checking single well batteries, monitor storage capacities, and coordinate trucking if applicable
•Reporting spills, near misses, and complete hazard ID’s
•Completing problem well reports if needed
•Issuing permits to contractors and crews when necessary
•Providing insight and share opinions at Safety and Operational meetings
•Maintaining good relations with landowners
•Responding to call outs and emergency alarms if applicable
•Maintaining assigned company trucks and tools.
•Expected to obtain battery knowledge and experience
WHAT YOU NEED:
•Previous field operating and battery experience would be considered an asset
•Basic mathematical abilities are required
•Computer skills are considered an asset
•Mechanical abilities are considered an asset
•Collaborate well with others
•Ability to identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and implement the best solutions
•Strong safety conscience
•Strong mechanical aptitude
•Required to reside within a 45-minute drive of the assigned field
•Must conform to facial hair standards for wearing respiratory protective equipment as required by Enform
•Required to drive to a variety of work sites using company vehicles including all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, etc.
•Exposure to all weather conditions
•May be required to lift items weighing up to 25 kilograms or more.
•Exposure to potential hazards e.g. toxic chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide
•Required to work under stress and to handle emergency situations
•A valid driver’s license is required
•Willingness to achieve certification in:
•SAIT Production Field Operator Training
•Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra's Safety Policy
