A Day in The Life of a Facilities Maintenance Technician
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in keeping our buildings and grounds in top condition. You'll handle a range of tasks, from conducting routine inspections and performing minor repairs on equipment like generators and HVAC systems, to maintaining clean and safe spaces inside and out. Your days will involve everything from changing air filters and inspecting fire extinguishers to responding to facility alarms and ensuring everything is documented in our maintenance software. When unexpected issues arise, you'll be ready to tackle them, keeping our operations running smoothly.
Beyond technical work, you'll support our team with event setups, basic custodial tasks, and making recommendations for facility improvements. Your attention to detail and ability to juggle varied responsibilities will help us maintain a comfortable and efficient environment for everyone. If you're a hands-on problem-solver who enjoys variety in your day and takes pride in keeping things in order, this role is a great fit for you.
You thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, enjoying hands-on work and taking pride in keeping facilities in top shape. Organization is your strength, and you make sure every task is completed with precision, whether it's maintaining equipment, documenting maintenance, or handling unexpected issues. Teamwork comes naturally to you, and you're always ready to jump in and lend a hand when needed.
You bring a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a solid background in facilities maintenance-typically gained through at least two years of hands-on experience or a blend of education and practical work. You hold a valid Michigan driver's license, and you're certified in forklift and aerial lift operation. Operating fleet vehicles and other specialized equipment is second nature to you. If you're ready to apply your skills and enthusiasm to our team, we'd love to hear from you!
We believe our people are our greatest asset and our benefits reflect that. From the expected to the exceptional, our offerings are designed to support you and your family at every stage of life. We provide a well-rounded package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, and robust retirement plans - just to name a few.
