Summary:
Responsible for the planning and execution of the day-to-day activities of the Extrusion department and employees to ensure product is moved through production in the most cost effective and safe manner. Directs and coordinates all Extrusion operations to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel.
Required Education/Experience:
- Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English.
- Must have basic math skills, use a calculator and read a tape measure.
- Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment.
- Must be able to read and comprehend policies, quality management system procedures and other plant procedures.
- Must be able to use computer programs and software such as MS Office, Axapta, and IMS.
- Oversees day to day operations in the Extrusion Department and evaluates and performs functions of staffing, quality, safety, housekeeping, delivery and cost of manufacturing.
- Fosters an environment that allows staff and responsible departments to interact and develop processes and procedures that comply with Plant Manager’s directives and promotes continuous improvement.
- Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of the department.
- Manages efficiency projects (R2R, Pvelocity and Die Revisions….).
- Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
- Investigates causes of customer or other complaints and responds accordingly.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with organizations’ policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, making hiring decisions, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- In accordance with CRI guidelines; careful operation of equipment, adequate cleaning, and reporting of malfunctions to the maintenance team in a timely fashion.
