Experienced Utility Excavator Operator

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for an Experienced Utility Excavator Operator position with our Northern Middle TN Construction team, located in Cookeville, TN . This role will work with our grading and site-prep crew doing utility work and larger scale earth-moving projects.

The successful candidate for this position will be an experienced utility excavator operator, and they must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

- Starting wage is based on experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Must have experience operating an Excavator around utilities both above and underground. Also, helpful if you have experience. Operating other heavy equipment – such as a dozer, haul truck, roller, or skid steer to complete utility work is a plus.

- Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.

- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.

- Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

- Effective communication skills applicable to position.

- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

- Experience excavating around existing underground utilities is perferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

- At least 2 years of experience operating a medium to large size excavator similar, is required.

- Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.

- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

- Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

- Pass pre-employment drug screen.

- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.

- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.

Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.
