Job Title: Experienced MTO Designer Detailer / Level II Drafter and Field Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an MTO Designer, detailer. You will work with customers and our manufacturing team to produce submittal drawings and production drawings. The design team's responsibility is to create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software clearly communicating what the customer project requirements are to the manufacturing team.

Additionally, you may be responsible for interacting with customers on-site, taking accurate measurements, and gathering essential information for production drawings.

Responsibilities:

- Drafting:

- Creating 2D and 3D drawings based on sales sketches, blueprints, and technical specifications.

- Use CAD software proficiently to accurately produce detailed drawings and plans.

- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes or improvements.

- Collaborate with other drafters, customers, and sales team to understand project requirements and expectations.

- Field Technician - Site Measurements and Customer Service:

- Conduct on-site visits to customers' locations to gather accurate measurements and data for projects.

- Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

- Record site measurements, notes, and other critical information for use in drafting and project planning.

- Collaborate with the drafting team to incorporate field data into design drawings accurately.

- Quality Control:

- Perform quality checks on drafted drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to drafting standards.

- Review and verify dimensions, measurements, and other essential details on drawings.

- Seek guidance from senior drafters or supervisors to resolve drafting issues or discrepancies.

- Documentation:

- Maintain organized records of all drafted drawings and related documentation.

- Prepare and update technical documentation, reports, and project files related to field work.

- Communication:

- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project requirements.

- Participate in project meetings to discuss drafting progress, field findings, and updates.

- Learning and Development:

- Participate in training sessions to enhance drafting skills, field techniques, and knowledge.

- Seek opportunities for continuous learning and improvement in drafting techniques and field work practices.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of drafting experience in the MTO industry or similar field.

- Optional: Associate's degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

- Layout experience in metal fabrication, Millworks, or finish carpentry.

- Conceptual aptitude on how products are assembled.

- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Fusion360, SolidWorks, etc.).

- Proficient in 2D and 3D drafting techniques and industry standards.

- Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work and field measurements.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with customers.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new drafting technologies and field work practices.

- Familiarity with Google Suite preferred.

- Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and ability to navigate to project locations.
