Estimator

Overview

We are a small fabrication company looking to expand our team by adding a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a background in steel fabrication/construction estimating and be able to help our company develop a system to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates.

Duties

- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.

- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.

- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather data for estimating purposes as necessary.

- Negotiate contracts and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the company.

- Monitor cost control throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing estimates, budgets, and any changes in project scope or costs.

Requirements

- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.

- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

- Familiarity with contracts related to fabrication projects is preferred.

- Experience in project management within the construction industry is preferred.

- Ability to perform cost control analysis and provide recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
