Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Environmental Compliance, Health & Safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, while also fostering a proactive culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization. The successful candidate must be able to influence and drive positive EHS behavior within a growing organization.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
- Stay up to date on changes in regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Implement and maintain EHS management systems.
- Complete applicable compliance reporting as required by third parties.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental, health, and safety risks.
- Develop and implement risk management plans and procedures.
- Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
- Communicate EHS information and procedures to employees and stakeholders.
- Train on-site ‘safety-champions’ at each operating site and meet with them regularly.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement EHS Management System including policies, procedures, and performance indicators (proactive and reactive KPIs).
- Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of EHS programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS into business operations.
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and audits.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Enhance reporting and co. culture by incorporating proactive measures such as good catches, leadership safety moments, etc.to be used together with reactive metrics such as reporting of injuries, near misses, etc. while monitoring, tracking, and reporting on same.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, human resources or a related field;
- 8+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety management;- Experience in the energy industry is considered in asset;
- Additional relevant professional certifications would be an asset.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
