SPATCO is looking for a driven and self-motivated Compliance Testing Technician to support our mission of responsible resource management. In this field-based role, you'll travel to various sites to perform regulatory inspections and precision testing on underground fuel storage and dispensing systems, ensuring compliance with environmental standards at the federal, state, and local levels. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives in changing environments, and takes pride in hands-on technical work that directly protects our natural resources.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct detailed inspections by reviewing monitoring system histories and verifying alarm conditions
- Test fuel dispensing systems and components, ensuring correct placement and function of leak detectors and sensors
- Verify the operational integrity of both mechanical and electronic line/leak detection systems
- Perform precision testing on fuel lines to confirm structural integrity and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance records, and service recommendations
- Inspect and test secondary containment areas, ensuring they are structurally sound and free of petroleum, water, or debris
- Identify system issues and perform minor fuel system repairs as needed
- Clearly communicate technical findings and procedures to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
- Participate in and complete all required equipment and safety training
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one years-experience as a field technician is desired.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at medium heights, and be able to crouch, bend, and kneel.
- Have a good driving record and be willing to travel, in some cases be away from home multiple nights in a row.
- Ability to work in all types of weather.
- Adhere to safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
