Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering Technologist opportunity in Ogden, UT.

As an Engineering Technologist, you will participate in defining facility/system functions, behaviors, and other design requirements. You will perform system-level design verification and test requirements specifications. You will compile, adjust, and correlate data that will develop your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard systems engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
The Engineering Technologist will provide administrative and technical support of the Technical Requirements Management Program (TRMP) including coordinating design requirements through the use of administrative tools and databases. Advise management of problems and progress related to those activities. This position will support engineering team members in areas including application support and data management as follows: enter, coordinate, and manage data in configuration control and engineering software. Perform the execution of information system initiatives to meet customers’ needs in a variety of technical areas and situations. Perform a variety of work that requires application of technical principles. Apply knowledge of information systems/data principles and practices. Work with engineering disciplines to ensure engineering data is properly transferred to other project systems. Work with discipline leads to optimize software and data use. Assist in standardizing the configuration, data integration, and work processes for the project. Prepare data related work process diagrams and non-proprietary electronic data exchanges with other Client software.
- Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Systems Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Assists defining facility/system functions, behaviors, and other design requirements, prepares the criteria documents, and coordinates and facilitates technical discussion to resolve system design issues.
- Assists system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specifications, and requirements flow down and traceability .
- Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for systems related matters.
- Assists engineers to provide technical and administrative support regarding design documentation.
- Be able to read and interpret engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings.
- Collaborates with multiple departments, when necessary, to solve issues.
- Loading and maintaining requirements documents and implementing documents in DOORS or similar requirement management software.
- Establishes links within DOORS, or similar, for requirement traceability.
- Maintains consistency of the hierarchical structure, core attributes, views, and naming conventions within Innoslate or similar.
- Compiles and distributes process metrics to track performance.
- Assists with the training of personnel on the Requirements Management Program, including the DOORS software and perform or assisting in, assessments on the Requirements Management Program.
- Assists engineers with preparation, review, and issuance of project reports, as assigned.
- Requires a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- Additionally, one or more years of relevant experience with computer databases and spreadsheets and/or with identification and management of technical/design data.
- Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must have the ability to obtain and retain a Secret clearance.
- Broad knowledge operating systems and software.
- Experience with exchanging data between software and systems.
- Experience managing data, developing business rules, and performing complex queries against various database systems.
- Well organized and has the ability to develop work plans to accomplish assigned tasks within established budgets and schedules.
- Demonstrated experience in automation technology tools.
- Ability to cope with conflicting deadline, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
- Competency in Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Power BI.
- Strong aptitude for utilizing the computer to collect, organize, and present technical data using relational databases.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
- Experience/competency in use of DOORS, Spec Innovations, Innoslate, or another requirement management software program (such as SmartPlant Foundation or a CADD software program).
- Experience/competency in the use and deployment of CAMEO and/or SysML.
