The Planning Engineering Technician will report directly to the Appalachia Division (SMSD) Planning Engineering Manager and is responsible for assisting the Planning Engineering staff with any support functions including, but not limited to, research, data gathering, analysis, and reporting functions.
- Production Modeling
- Work with various groups to gather essential production related data
- Collect and analyze data from various platforms/sources:
- Marketing data
- Accounting data
- SCADA (Cygnet) data
- Daily production reports
- Various departmental meetings
- Well production profiles
- Produce weekly updates to real-time production model
- Generate scenario models on an as-needed basis
- Interpret and present model results within the planning group and management
- Work with the Midstream group on system hydraulic modeling
- Coordinate with midstream business partners on system operation and expansion projects
- Data Management
- Update, Maintain, and reconcile daily volumes
- Update spreadsheets and databases with information from various sources and prepare analysis
- Track and graph production
- Prepare graphs and other exhibits to be used for presentations
Minimum Experience: 3 years of related, relevant experience
Oil & Gas Exp Required: Preferred, but not required
Skills: Teamwork, Written and verbal communication, Problem Solving, Strong MS Office Skills, and attention to detail, SQL querying, relational database systems
Required - Microsoft Office - MS Excel in particular, SQL Server Management Studio
Preferred - Engineering Programs (e.g. Enersight, Hysis, NODAL Analysis, hydraulic modeling, etc.), Peloton Products, SharePoint, Cygnet Vision and FMS Spotfire
4-year degree in engineering, math, physics, statistics, computer science, or most physical sciences
Strong/Advanced computer skills and above average analytical skills
Self-Starter with good work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines
Experience with Enersight, Spotfire, Peloton (WellView), and Cygnet software
Experience with oil and gas terminology and practices.
