We are searching for an Engineer level 3 on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment.(W-2) The person will be engaging in decision-making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight, with a focus on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. May work as an extension of the engineering team, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance and reliability goals.
May assist with project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting. The person would have a strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale energy projects. You will be working on PLC programming, preferably Schneider Electric platforms. The person would have knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development. You must have the ability to travel up to 25% for project commissioning support.
- Plans, organizes, and manages engineering projects with advanced knowledge application, balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
- May supervise a team of engineers and oversee design development, permitting, and compliance for energy infrastructure.
- Supports detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications for power delivery projects.
- Bridges the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 11+ years of experience in PLC programming, preferably Schneider Electric platforms- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols
- Experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility-scale energy project
- Proven experience in utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects
- Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards
- Experience with FAT/SAT testing procedures and commissioning protocols
- Full accountability for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion
- Ability to travel up to 25% for project commissioning support
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness preferred
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $72.00/hr. to $77.00/hr.
