Job Summary:
We are seeking a Structural Engineer II to join our team. This role involves performing structural design and engineering tasks of moderate complexity while contributing to project planning, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural analysis, foundation design, and industrial facility layouts, particularly in pipeline stations and truck loading facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on multiple design and engineering tasks within projects, handling assignments of moderate complexity.
Provide input on project task planning, timelines, and completion strategies.
Mentor and guide entry-level technical staff, both formally as directed and informally as opportunities arise.
Exercise technical judgment to determine appropriate work methods, with work reviewed at key project milestones.
Perform engineering calculations for simple platforms, pipe supports, foundations, and retaining walls, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
Utilize STAAD and RAM software for structural calculations.
Create grading and drainage plans using AutoCAD Civil3D software.
Ensure compliance with structural design codes and standards, including:
ACI 318 – Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete
ASCE 7 – Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures
AISC 360 – Steel Construction Manual
International Building Code
CRSI Design Handbook
Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, including:
49 CFR 195 – Subparts A, C & D

Demonstrate an understanding of hazardous area classification and its implications for facility layout.
Describe the basic operations of a pipeline station, including key components such as pig traps, pumps, meters, provers, and strainers.
Describe the basic operation of a truck loading facility, including major components such as tanks, pumps, meters, strainers, provers, load arms, couplings, presets, and additive injection systems.
Familiarity with various equipment types and their required foundations and platforms, including:
ANSI pumps
Horizontal mainline pumps
Vertical can pumps
MCCs (Motor Control Centers)
PDCs (Power Distribution Centers)
EDCCs (Electrical Distribution Control Centers)
PLC cabinets
Create accurate time estimates for assigned engineering and design tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements:Education:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from an accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience: 3+ years of structural engineering and design experience in a related field.
E.I.T. license preferred (Engineer-in-Training).
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of structural design codes and standards.
Experience using structural analysis software.
Ability to perform engineering calculations and present results effectively.
Familiarity with industrial facilities, including pipeline stations and truck loading facilities.
Ability to work independently with general supervision and collaborate with a project team.
