Engineer (contract)

Job Summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and reliability of natural gas distribution systems through hands-on engineering support. Working within a well-established infrastructure renewal program, you will play a vital role in creating technical documentation, managing design packages, and collaborating with diverse project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role provides meaningful exposure to utility operations while developing core engineering competencies in a supportive and structured environment. You will serve as a technical resource for both internal teams and external partners, helping to bridge the gap between design, planning, and construction phases of critical infrastructure projects.

- Create and manage engineering drawings and design documents using AutoCAD

- Prepare and organize administrative project paperwork, packages, and procedures

- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and mechanical contractors

- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, addressing questions and concerns

- Generate project documentation and support the execution and delivery of assigned projects

- Review assigned natural gas infrastructure projects and update technical documents

- Respond to contractor and project manager inquiries

- Support construction planning and documentation preparation

Skills

- Strong organizational skills

- Effective verbal and written communication

- CAD experience, with AutoCAD highly preferred

- Technical writing ability

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year program
