Energy Distribution Engineering Intern

Overview:

We have an opportunity for a Energy Distribution Engineering Intern to join our team!

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Energy Distribution Engineering staff including but not limited to support staff, project engineers, project coordinators, managers, and directors. Responsible for providing data analysis, risk assessment review, and technical support. Candidates may have the opportunity to work within the following groups: Energy Engineering Design, or Energy Construction Engineering.

Responsibilities:

- Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and Citizens policies and procedures.

- Develops an understanding and complies with the Citizens Quality Program. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.

- Contributes to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.

- Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work.

- Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.

- Focuses on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Active attendance at a college or university with emphasis in engineering, data analysis, business management, construction management, or related field.

- A current Grade Point Average of 2.75 or higher.

- Ability to work both remotely and access Citizens' local office.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

- Valid State of Indiana, Bureau of Motor Vehicles Operator's License.

- Experience preferred in Microsoft Windows 10, Office Suite, ARC GIS.

- Ability to communicate and interact effectively and successfully with project managers, staff engineers, and other team members.

- Completed at least Freshman year level of studies.
