Position Summary
Arcus Power is seeking a versatile professional who can seamlessly balance real‑time operational dispatch with forward‑looking market analysis. Reporting jointly to the Director of Generation & Asset Management (dispatch focus) and the Chief Product Officer (market research focus), this hybrid role wears two complementary hats:
1. Electricity Market Dispatcher (“Real‑Time Hat”) – Safeguard the reliable operation and market performance of client assets by interpreting ISO instructions, coordinating dispatch, and engaging directly with customers.
2. Market Research Analyst (“Strategic Hat”) – Track policy and program changes across all North American ISOs, mine Arcus Power’s market datasets for model‑enhancing features, and translate insights into thought‑leadership content that showcases Arcus value.
This position sits at the intersection of operations, product, and marketing—ideal for someone who thrives on both minute‑to‑minute decision‑making and deep analytical storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Real‑Time Dispatch & Client Operations
•Interpret and coordinate real‑time dispatch instructions from multiple ISOs, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and asset reliability.
•Leverage AI‑enabled Arcus dashboards to identify optimization opportunities in energy and ancillary service markets.
•Maintain meticulous records of dispatch activities and customer communications for audit, billing, and regulatory needs.
•Respond to emergent grid situations, collaborating with ISO system operators and client teams for safe resolution.
•Present dispatch outcomes and market insights in customer meetings, shaping performance‑improvement strategies.
2. Market Research & Analysis (All North American ISOs)
•Monitor tariff filings, stakeholder meetings, program launches, and regulatory rulings across every ISO/RTO; maintain a living knowledge base of rule changes and timelines.
•Analyze Arcus Power’s high‑resolution price, load, and coincident‑peak data to uncover new model features or datasets that enhance forecasting accuracy.
•Quantify potential revenue, cost‑avoidance, and risk‑mitigation impacts of upcoming ISO changes for Arcus and its clients.
•Package insights into internal briefs for Product & Engineering and into external‑facing white papers, blog posts, and webinar decks that position Arcus as a thought leader.
•Serve as the primary liaison to the Marketing team for energy‑market content, ensuring technical rigor and customer relevance.
3. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Product Enablement
•Translate dispatcher feedback and research findings into clear product requirements for Data Science and Software teams.
•Contribute to feature‑prioritization sessions led by the Chief Product Officer.
•Use HubSpot, Figma, Loom, and Scribe to document workflows, share quick‑hit tutorials, and capture customer requirements.
•Uphold ISO rules, cyber‑security standards, and Arcus business processes at all times.
