Electrician / Controls Industrial Maintenance

Job Summary:

The incumbent MUST BE A JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN who will be responsible for all maintenance in the plant including both electrical and mechanical maintenance work, with emphasis on controls. Equipment ranges from large-medium punch presses, metal sheer, robot operation & function, roll forming machines, compressors, spray-painting equipment, welders and facility up-keep.

Duties / Responsibilities:

- The individual must be familiar with electrical theory of operation of the above-mentioned equipment and capable of reading, using and understanding various schematics and wiring diagrams.

- The individual must also possess a general working knowledge of the mechanical aspects of plant equipment.

- Trouble shooting and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and controls will require knowledge and proper use of various types of test equipment and specialized tools.

- The incumbent shall be familiar with the National Electric Code regarding safety, as well as the proper installation of electrical equipment. Shall also be able to interpret prints, make setups of equipment, work to tolerances of plus or minus .005, perform tasks of machine repair.

- General duties will include such items as trouble shooting, repairing, replacing, re-wiring, cleaning, testing and performing routine preventive maintenance procedures on electrical assemblies, panels and components.

- Also perform tasks such as operate and test all equipment to determine proper functioning.

- Check clearance’s and running tolerances to determine wear of bearings surfaces on punch presses, pumps, shafts, etc., inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate cause of trouble.

- Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.

- Other duties may include certain “set-up tasks” including the turning of copper.

- Comply with safety rules and perform work in a safe manner to protect self and others. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion. Must follow all safety procedures and processes established by the company and or required per OSHA standards. All other duties assigned.

- Must provide tools as listed on Conco Position Tool List.
