Electrical Procurement Coordinator – Permanent Full Time
SkyFire Energy is looking for an Electrical Procurement Coordinator to become part of our solar electric team in Calgary. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing electrical materials, tools and equipment for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects throughout Western Canada. You will work closely with our engineering, construction and project management teams to ensure that materials are delivered on time and within budget. This individual will be self-motivated, energetic, personable, and excited to work as part of a fast-growing company in the solar industry.
- Work with Project Management and Estimating teams to provide up-to-date product pricing for estimating purposes
- Lead the procurement of electrical materials such as cable, connectors, breakers, loadcentres, transformers and switchgear for Residential, Commercial and Utility-scale projects
- Work with Warehouse staff at each location to forecast material needs and to ensure stock materials are available, and to assign product to individual projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors
- Issue RFQ’s, review quotes, and negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times
- Track purchase orders, deliveries and inventory to ensure project schedules are met
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices and cost tracking for reporting purposes
- Support standardization of materials and vendors across locations and projects for cost efficiency- 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in the electrical or renewable energy industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials and components
- Proficient with ERP software and Google Suite
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent decision making and leadership capabilities
- Excellent negotiation, organizational and communication skills
- Conflict resolution experience
- Adaptability
- Able to tolerate stressful situations
- Ability to work in a team environment with many different personalities
- Class 5 driver's license with a good driving record
