We are seeking a Electrical Maintenance Engineering Supervisor to join our Maintenance & Operations Engineering Support
Department. Under consultative direction of the Department Manager, will supervise and lead a section that provides expertise to
support complex maintenance and operations staff including assessing condition and rehabilitation options enabling Manitoba Hydro
to make effective asset management decisions on infrastructure within generating facilities, AC switchyards, and substations.
Applies Engineering methods toward innovative problem solving, root cause analysis, maintenance program reviews, predictive
monitoring programs, project scope prioritization & development, budgeting, resource assignment, asset condition assessment, risk
mitigation, strategy development and business planning.
Responsibilities:
•Supervise a large group of technical experts including budgeting, performance reviews, personal development planning,
strategic initiatives and safe work requirements.
•Responsible for leading multiple teams made up of engineers, technologists and technical assistants, for electrical
maintenance engineering services that support Manitoba Hydro energy system assets.
•Provide subject matter expertise and maintain the lead technical support role for executing electrical maintenance program
reviews.
•Direct urgent response to outages where there are significant outage costs or where safety or the environment is an urgent
concern.
•Work with Operations, Asset Management and Engineering departments to identify needs, prioritization and project scope
requirements for future maintenance and capital investment.
•Responsible to provide oversite on root cause analysis, maintenance plan development, condition and scope for rehabilitation
of defective equipment, providing a lead role in managing electrical forced outage reviews & event reporting.
•Maintain a strong working relationship with maintenance and operating staff to address operational reliability, safety and
compliance issues, while continually improve overall asset performance and outage management.
•Identify, triage and update asset information and workflows through the Department's work management processes.
•Analyze equipment operating data and evaluate overall effectiveness of maintenance programs and functional design.
•Ensure NERC compliance and reporting are maintained to an adequate level.
•Respond to complex inquiries and interface with customers and insurers to obtain stakeholder feedback.
Qualifications:
•Graduate in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a University of recognized standing with a minimum of nine years'
related experience, including five years' experience supporting the operation and maintenance of generation, transmission or
HVDC assets, and three years supervisory/leadership experience.
•Professional Member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

•Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, direct and influence personnel.
•Experience in design, construction, commissioning or maintenance of high or medium voltage equipment.
•Understanding of NERC and CIP compliance requirements.
•Must be able to get results, deliver multiple work assignments as planned.
•Capable of supervising, directing and motivating personnel.
•Must be a capable of negotiating priorities with station management and scheduling assignments amongst multiple staff
members.
•Possess and maintain a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
•Must obtain and maintain a current Personal Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba
Hydro policy P513.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $55.94-$76.64 Hourly,
$107,201.12-$146,866.46 Annually.
