The Electrical Supervisor plays a vital leadership role in overseeing all electrical operations at the project site. This position is responsible for supervising site electricians, managing the execution of electrical work in compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and ensuring efficient operations to support mining and water treatment projects.
Key responsibilities include supervising electrical personnel, ensuring timely and accurate completion of site safety documentation, managing employee timekeeping, and supporting the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems. The Supervisor will serve as a liaison between field electricians, project managers, and other site personnel to maintain safety, productivity, and technical quality.
- Act as a working supervisor, directly participating in the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while overseeing the daily activities of site electricians.
- Supervise and coordinate daily tasks, ensuring all electrical work meets quality standards, safety procedures, and project specifications.
- Assign responsibilities, monitor team progress, and evaluate performance of electrical crew members.
- Install, inspect, test, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in compliance with mining regulations and safety standards, as needed.
- Lead regular safety meetings and ensure completion of required safety documentation (e.g., FLRAs, inspections, permits).
- Review and submit accurate daily and weekly time entries for assigned personnel in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to maintain optimal function and minimize unplanned outages.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide hands-on support and direction for resolution.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, industry codes, and regulatory requirements; proactively address and correct unsafe practices.
- Coordinate closely with other departments and subcontractors to align electrical activities with broader project timelines and goals.
- Maintain organized records, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Provide regular updates to project management on progress and personnel matters, and recommend improvements or corrective actions when necessary.

- Valid Journeyman Electrician certification/license required, or eligibility for reciprocity with the State of Alaska.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical work, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, mining safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation equipment.
- Proficient in testing and commissioning electrical components.
- Proven experience in managing personnel, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining project schedules.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Willing to travel throughout the state of Alaska.
