Electrical & Instrumentation Designerto join our dynamic team and contribute to one of our major client projects.

- Structured Recruitment:
We have a structured recruitment system in place to ease the hiring process.
- Draft, design, produce and assemble documents, electrical and instrumentation engineering work packages, scopes of work and drawings to execute the work as directed and reviewed by engineers or designers;
- Perform calculations for layouts and design to quantify factors affecting arrangement and installation of items such as calculating equipment and material requirements against site and design criteria;
- Work with engineers, architects, owners, and technicians to determine project specifications and functional requirements, including safety and operational preferences and incorporate into the drawings;
- Apply knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development;
- Complete design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD;
- Analyze surveys, field notes, maps, photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and the best approach in developing and completing projects on time and on budget;
- Coordinate and integrate its work with other project stakeholders for an integrated functional design;
- Apply fit for purpose, functional and agile principles it the planning and execution of its work;
- Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits;
- Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made;
- Perform thorough quality control (QA/QC) checks as required;
- Apply the working knowledge of codes, design requirements, and client specifications;
- Efficiently use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems and software programs;
- Collaborate with project managers and design staff to provide status updates, discuss challenges, and risks;
- College diploma in Electrical or a drafting diploma
- Minimum of 10 years in the design of electrical and Instrumentation with an engineering consultant firm
- Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and other industry standards and best practices (IEEE, API)
- Experience with LV, MV and HV applications would be an asset
