Arizona G&T Cooperatives are two electric cooperatives owned by the members we serve. Our members include six electric distribution cooperatives that distribute electric power to their own residential and commercial consumers at the end of the line. Day to day as a Electrical Engineer I, II or III (Protective Relaying & Automation) As an Electrical Engineer I, II, or III (Protective Relaying & Automation) at Arizona G&T Cooperatives, you will engage in a variety of tasks that ensure the reliability and efficiency of our protective relaying systems. On a daily basis, you will be involved in designing, testing, and optimizing relaying schemes, while collaborating closely with your team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Your responsibilities will include analyzing system performance data, maintaining documentation, and contributing to project planning and implementation. You will also participate in safety assessments and compliance checks to uphold our commitment to excellence and integrity. Expect to work a structured schedule of four 10-hour days, allowing you to focus intensively on your projects while maintaining a work-life balance. To excel as an Electrical Engineer I, II, or III (Protective Relaying & Automation) at Arizona G&T Cooperatives, candidates should possess a solid foundation in electrical engineering, specifically a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Option preferred from an accredited institution. Ideal candidates will have one plus years of experience in power system troubleshooting and design, along with an Engineer-In-Training Certificate, which is desirable. Familiarity with utility protective relaying applications, control scheme design, and the testing of electrical apparatus is essential. Candidates should be knowledgeable in relay testing, meter testing, and substation automation/integration. Proficiency in relaying and substation automation communications is advantageous, as is experience with ASPEN OneLiner and ASPEN Relay Database software for short circuit and coordination studies. Strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer applications are required. Effective oral and written communication abilities, paired with proven team leadership and collaboration skills, will significantly contribute to your success in this role. Our team needs you!
