The Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) group is seeking an Electrical Component Specialist to provide support in the creation, management & support of component parts. Oversee, maintain and create Electrical 3D models in a common library to be used for all OTECH projects/programs. Work with engineering department to meet modeling needs.
PURPOSE:
Oversee, maintain and create Electrical 3D models in a common library to be used for all OTECH projects/programs. Work with engineering department to meet modeling needs.
- Understanding of life cycle management and end of life requirements of library parts
- Evaluate COTS library hardware inventory needs. As necessary create, maintain, supersede & obsolete COTS parts and models.
- Assignments will include technical evaluation and support of OTECH’s COTS library
- Work on electrical components
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and ability to provide guidance to design and modeling practices
- Coordinate with other teams such as design, engineering, manufacturing, quality engineering to establish modeling standards and requirements.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of CAD equipment
- Must be willing to learn Digital Engineering and understand model based definition (MBD) to support customer needs and their requirements.
- Requires appreciation of time and schedule management.
- Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates
- Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums
- A motivated individual who's able to work closely with different groups of people within diverse team to resolve issues
- Must be a self-starter and work independently and as a part of a team.

- Demonstrates knowledge and effective use of the principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and understanding of related engineering fields.
- Microsoft Office formal courses and ANSI/EIA 649.
- Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance.
- Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits.
- High level knowledge of 3D modeling and design standards.
- Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.1 drafting standards.
- 5-8 years of experience with SolidWorks advanced modeling knowledge and configuration.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD helpful but not necessary.
- Experience with Altium & SolidWorks Electrical.
This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
