This individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety onsite. This includes coordination, training, inspections, and day-to-day safety operations to support a safe and secure work environment for our team, trade partners, and clients. This person may be assigned to one large project or several typical projects at a time.
» Conduct site specific orientations for all subcontractors and employees, setting the stage of a safety culture from day one.
» Maintain thorough documentation for subcontractors onsite, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
» Conduct and review Job Safety Analyses (JSA's) to identify potential hazards and develop effective preventive measures.
» Take charge of inspecting projects, machinery, and safety equipment on a daily basis.
» Participate in our TEAM Safety committee, fostering collaboration and engagement in safety initiatives.
» Conduct and coordinate ongoing employee training, ensuring that our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to work safely.
» Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine the root causes and implement preventive measures based on the findings.
» Review procedures to ensure safety requirements are met, keeping our operations aligned with OSHA and Trident standards.
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
» Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Safety, or other similar degree field, and a minimum three (3) years construction safety experience required or equivalent number of years in a construction safety position.
» OSHA 30 certification and First Aid certification required. Additional OSHA certifications are desired but not required.
» Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
» Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
» Ability to read and understand contract documents.
» Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required by project schedule.
» Work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
» Possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to assess complex situations and devise practical solutions to ensure the well-being of our team.
» Demonstrate the desire to continuously seek opportunities for added responsibility and growth on the jobsite.
» Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, external organizations, and customers in a timely and professional manner.
» Must have the ability to climb heights, ladders, and scaffolding up to 50’ tall and lift up-to 50 lbs.
» Must be able to walk jobsites extensively (8+ hours per day) and navigate through construction area(s).
